Outer Wilds crashs in full screen / Outer Wilds crash en plein écran (EN/FR) :(
Salut !

Merci beaucoup d'avance !

Hi!

Sorry to take your time to read this, but I have a problem when I run Outer Wilds: my game crashes in the middle of a cycle when in full screen. In windowed mode, I can sometimes do full cycles, or even play normally, but I find it unpleasant not to be able to fully immerse myself in the game.
I have a computer that doesn't struggle on any other game (Nvidia RTX 2080 Super, AMD Ryzen 7, 16Gb of RAM, so it should be fine, especially for this game).
Despite that I keep crashing in the middle of the game, and I searched on forums and everything, but obviously no solution found. Has anyone encountered this problem before?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Have you tried verifying the integrity of game files? (Library -> Right-click on game -> Properties -> Local files -> Verify integrity of game files)

When you say it crashes in the middle of a cycle, do you mean it occurs at roughly the same moment after starting? After about how much time does the game crash?
Does it happen in some specific location, or when you do something specific?

When first playing the game, did you go around the village to do what were effectively tutorials, or did you go directly to the observatory to get the launch codes? If the former, did the game crash then?

Did the game ever crash on the title screen?

Yes I just tried, it worked for a cycle and a half, and it just crashed again ! :(

Yes, it occurs often at the midle of a cycle. It doesn't occur in a certain place, no..

Yep, I did the tutorial things and all ! I believe it never crashed on title screen tho !

Hey, thanks for reporting this. Have you checked your graphics drivers are up to date? We did have a serious issue with an Nvidia driver recently. Please make sure your Nvidia driver is version 528.02 and later.

Thanks for taking the time to check your drivers.

Here are some more things to try:

- Reinstalling Outer Wilds
- Deleting all mods
- Unplugging all external monitors before launching the game
- Following the steps under "You can also try copying your save data to a new profile" on our support page: https://www.mobiusdigitalgames.com/supportforum.html

We hope this helps! Unfortunately, it's unlikely we'll be able to provide further assistance if the problem persists. As we move on to new projects, our tech team is only available to investigate the most widespread Outer Wilds bugs. The unofficial Outer Wilds communities on Reddit and Discord are also great places to ask for troubleshooting tips. We will keep an eye on this thread and if more people run into the issue we'll be sure to respond.

Thanks again for reaching out, and we appreciate your support and understanding.
