Down Thruster Stuck, Always On

I was riding a raft in the stranger as the loop reset. When I put on the space suit there's smoke around my feet, fuel is depleting, without pressing any other buttons I boost instead of jumping. Ship controls are also messed up. Have to quit the game before controls will act normal again.

I've had this occur on controllers when the controller gets "reset" while one of the sticks is pushed in the opposite direction. Usually the solution is the unplug the controller, make sure nothing is touching it, and plug it back in.

I'm having the same issue, except I get thrusted up. I checked my controller (xbox one wireless) and it's working fine. This seems like a game issue. I'm have the screen go black and then comeback, doing that repeatedly . Then I get launched into space at a crazy velocity when I'm outside my ship. All these bugs popped up today.

Have you tried the solution suggested by ReverendTed?
Have you tried verifying the integrity of game files? (Library -> Right-click on game -> Properties -> Local files -> Verify integrity of game files)

Did you ever find a fix for this? I'm having the same problem.

I quit the game and the controls will acted normal again the next time I started it up.
