Bug(?) regarding timing on Ash Twin *spoiler*

After accessing the core of Ash Twin once via the warp tower on the surface, I've become unable to do it again. The first time I got in, the sand stream had run out slightly before hovering over the tower, allowing me to complete the warp. However, on subsequent cycles, the sand stream runs out slightly after hovering over the tower, and the cycle ends before I am ever actually able to warp into Ash Twin. This (seemingly) exact timing has persisted across every subsequent cycle and through a computer restart.

I'm not actually sure if this is an intended feature or not, as it seems too weird and consistent to be a bug, but a friend of mine who played the game is unfamiliar with the phenomenon and couldn't find anything related.

My method is standing near the warp point, in the little side area with the ceiling. as the sand is passing over, run out while using down thrusters
