Ist it normal that I can only mark one location on my HUD?
Other than the ship, that is? Seems like it would be immensely useful to have more than one location marker, especially on planets that have more than one site on it. I always find it extremly difficult to navigate on planets, with only the featureless minimap to guide me. The time I've spent just randomly circling entire planets in the hope of discovering a site I may have missed... I guess I'm supposed to remember the locations of things based on their positions relative to the north and south poles, without needing additional markers, but my brain just isn't very good at that.

(As I'm generally not very good at any of the navigational skills the game requires, which is why i've been playing intermittently for all the years since its release now and am 14 hours in, total, and still am constantly crashing into things, and dying due to misjudging how to gently drop down from heights with the jetpack, and finding myself unable to figure out whether I've seen all there is to see in a given place or not. Sigh.)

You can only mark one location at a time, 2 if you do the second with your scout.
You can mark a specific location in the ship log HUD instead of a whole planet.
The ship logs also tell you if there are more things to see in a location.

Thanks. Shame, though. Sigh.

Technically, you can mark 4 locations:

1. Spacebar in the ship log
2. Click on a map/visual object
3. Shooting the scout
4. Leaving your ship

The most specific at a distance you can get is by going to your log and marking a specific location's tag. Then whenever you are wearing your suit, it will keep track of that location, even when going through teleporters/other anomalies.
