Do you think I can run this game?
Hello there!

Not a PC expert here. I heard great reviews about this game and I'd like to give it a try!

Thing is it was released in 2020 and I'm afraid I may not be able to run it properly.

Here are my specs

Processor: Intel Core i5 3470
CPU: 3.2 GHZ
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 1030 gddr4
64 bits
RAM: 8.0GB
Motherboard: POS-PIQ77CL

Do you think I can run it?

Thanks in advance!

Edit: nevermind, people. I bought it and I could run it at 19 FPS. I'd continue, but I found the game to be kind of childish and gave up.

Hmm, looks like you won't run it terribly well but here's a video with it running with the GPU you have (well, slighly worse I guess), and a slightly worse CPU

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2g3cvYmFiY

Seems like you'll get 30+ fps

If that seems okay I'd say go for it - you can always steam refund within two hours of play time if it ends up not working for you somehow.

Hey, thanks! I'll watch the video right away. I wish I was good with computers, but I'm just a dumb player!

What's that dog in a straight jacket from? It looks familiar.

I used to run it on a i5-4590 and a GTX 750ti, you'll be fine.

Thank you so much for your reply, albeit I have to confess my knowledge about this topic is mostly nonexistent. Therefore I can't figure out if the piece of hardware you mentioned is better or worse than mine

Haha, my only solution is google "gtx 750ti vs 1030" and the like, there's comparison sites that just tell you one is some percent better and then give a breakdown.

Rough summary for geforce gpus is that the first number or two is the generation number of a sort, 7,8,9,10,20,30 (why not 11, 12? no idea)

then there's the number for how fancy it is
8-9 are the really high end ones
6-7 are the slightly worse ones but still big honking GPUs covered with fans and stuff
below that are the more budgety ones, usually a substantial dropoff but they don't take so much power and space

What does all this mean for 750 vs 1030? Yours is newer by a bunch but a slightly less fancy model for the generation so it's...probably better?

Thanks for the input. Albeit I don't know how to measure the GPU's fanciness... I often read terrible reviews about my GPU and I kind of have to deal with the fact that I bought a low end product by mistake.

But what you wrote makes sense. It just takes some time (and readings) to understand.

you can just try it and refund it if it doesnt work well

Best bet is just look at benchmark numbers, some place like
https://www.videocardbenchmark.net/

higher numbers mean better and they have charts with models listed by general performance range (high end, mid-high, etc)

Yes, but in that case I can only receive the money back as Steam funds. At the moment this would be a little incovenient to me. Thanks for the reminder!
