How to save?
I just started the game, spent one hour and a half exploring. All of it really cool until I got stuck in the background with no way to get unstuck. Since I couldn't find any way to load a previous save from the menu, I had to leave the game. It appears the game never saved in more than one hour and I have to start from scratch.

I really don't want this bad surprise to happen again, so how the hell do I save so that I don't have to start all over again every time I get stuck in the bad geography?

Also, I have to unwind a bit. That's one hell of a bad first contact. It will probably pass, but right now I just want to uninstall... -_-

The game saves what you do in the ship logs. Starting back at the fire is part of the game main mechanics.
If you haven't seen the statue event when exiting the museum, you're still in the tutorial of the game, you don't need to repeat everything you did. Just get the elevator code, exit the museum and go explore until you die.

Ok. I didn't do much after seeing the statue event. So it seems I dodn't lose much.

Thank you.

I know it can be confusing if you don't know anything about the game before playing it (the best way to discover the game without any spoilers).
Don't be surprise if you die unexpectedly at some point, it's also part of the game mechanics, it may takes you a few times to understand why depending on where you are when it happens.

Well, nothing was saved in the logs.
And do I really have to spend 10 minutes to get the codes every time? With the unskippable statue event and the mandatory dialogues?

No. After the first time, as long as the game actually saves for the first time (you'll know when it happens¹), you won't need to. After that first save, the game will save normally from then on.

¹If you need to quit the game and you fear the game hasn't saved yet, the moment is the first time you die after having obtained the launch codes.

It takes 1 min to get the code, exit the museum, have a weird interaction with the statue and die.
Then you'll have the code forever and don't need to get them ever again.

I didn't give up andI really like the game. :)
What I saw in the progue/tutorial really made me want to experiment what comes next. But the loss of one hour and a half on the very first try was a tough blow. :p
Really, once you've completed the first run, there's no problem anymore.

If you remember what you did and learned then you haven't lost anything. It's not like you have to do everything again to get something back.
You may have lost 1-2 entries in your shiplog but it's not essential
