DRM-free version?
It looks like a DRM-free .exe was added to the game in the most recent update, and if you rename the data folder, it launches, but it's not playable (no options at the title screen). Is there a fix for this to make it actually DRM-free? I would lose my mind with happiness.

you could just pirate it/download the crack

Sure, that's a possibility, but I'd love for an official DRM-free version. The Epic version, which I also own, is DRM-free, but only the base game, not the DLC.
Hopefully GOG release is closing in.

Am I seeing this?!

The game is amazing. OR! It's not for you.

You don't need to resort to piracy to enjoy. If you enjoy it at all, you'll want to pay the devs MORE.

I... what?

There's a mouse next to my name. That means it's in my Steam library. I also said that I bought it on Epic in addition to Steam.

DRM free versions arent pirated. You pay for them and can play them without its anti-pirating software (in this case, Steam)

Why do you need DRM-free anyway, OP? You can just use it with steam in offline-mode, no?

I can, it's just always preferable to have something with absolutely no restrictions. But yes, Steam's Offline Mode is exactly why I double-dipped for this version in the first place. The Epic version is DRM-free, but the DLC is only recognized if you have the Epic launcher running, hence my buying it here, too.

Yeah except some of us aren't made of money and may even not want to purchase the game more than once to get the game on different devices.

Or, as it is for me, who want to be sure that the game is playable also in xx years when maybe Steam or Epic or Humble Bumble do no longer exist, and generally do not want to be forced to have additional third party software to use the software I have purchased.

Actually, this DRM is holding me off to pay money for it. If I pay for something, I want to own it, completetly. Otherwise I do not pay.

I get this, especially now Valve have said that steam accounts are not able to be passed to children etc if you die... i'm not young and have 3 kids. in a few decades time when a whole generation of gamers wants to pass their account to a younger one, Valve is going to say no.
