Performance?
Is there any reason that a game that looks like this one runs so poorly?

I was about to make a topic asking the same question. I've played this when it came out on Epic store and it performance was great. Being a backer I got a steam key now and wanted to revisit the game and I am noticing some major performance issues! It lags a lot and even crashed a couple of times.

Could it be explained by Steam's overlay? or was it some update? I played this when it came out which was, what, one year ago? so there have been a number of updates, I believe.

Performance feels off, tried adjusting FOV and turning settings down, but getting nausea and thinking about refunding. Shouldn't be a problem with a Geforce RTX 2080.

Zero performance issues here -- latest NVIDIA drivers, gaming laptop (not 144hz), 1080p, edit: Geforce 1060, yada yada. Whatever it is, obviously it's only specific to certain setups.

2070 here. Ran kinda choppy. I cranked down the antialiasing and shadows (more likely the culprit) and it ran a lot smoother. **shrug**

Here Lenovo Legion Y520 gaming laptop i7-7700HQ - Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti, 8gb RAM and this game runs extremely laggy and choppy, no matter if I put it on low or very high, performance is the same bad even in the lowest setting. My laptop runs Sekiro and DMC5 on high settings at 50 fps (not 60 but enough), so I don't understand it...I hope there is a bug or another issue that can be repaired, because I really want to play it. :(

You think this is bad, try playing on Xbone. ;)

I'm on an i5-3570 OC'd to 4.2, and a Geforce 970, still get some stutters/choppiness at 1920x1080 w/ everything on highest.

Yeah, the main reason is it was made by a bunch of students, starting years ago, using an older (compared to now) version of Unity and just not knowing as much. (Reading some interviews, they made some architectural choices they would do differently now.) I'd love to have the unity project and connect to it w/ the profiler and see where the bottlenecks are.

Also, this is first release w/ new patch, I expect some things to get cleaned up in a patch or two.

Game is hard locked to 60fps if your monitor can run higher than 60hz FPS is terrible. I had to lock the game at 60fps in Nvidia control panel for it to be playable
