Solar system and cycle length questions.

Am I right in thinking there's only one solar system? Also, I've sometimes "died" with a white flash, with no obvious cause. Is this that cycle ending?

No, everything in every time loop is exactly the same unless 1) you changed something directly (opened a door that stays open) or 2) it's quantum. Other than that there aren't things that just randomly change. You even see the little ship in orbit going flying straight down towards the horizon every time you go up the elevator, same exact place, same exact timing, every loop.

To be fair there is one very specific thing that changes each time you wake up, but you have to be paying pretty careful attention to realize it. I was pleased with myself for noticing it before the game explained it.
