Can't start the game on the Epic Games Store release
Not looking for anyone's opinions on Steam vs Epic... there's a million threads on that already... and I already know Epic has no forums which is why I'm here... we all know that

But I'm mainly looking for anyone who has an issue on the Epic release where you're at the main screen and the game is asking for a profile name, but can't select the name field to enter any text... anyone getting this? Won't select with mouse or controller

I'm not pro Epic or anti Epic... don't really care, but seeing as this is a future page for the game on Steam, hey... whatever

i have the same issue. When do i learn. Never ever preoder or buy a game day one.

What resolution? Did you have a controller hooked up? If so, what kind?

Well started with controller but had to type with keyboard of course ..then I actually tried to continue with the controller X button and that did not work. So I just used mouse then clicked on "create" and it worked.

I tried with and without a controller (Xbox One with official USB dongle) and it won't work... without the controller turned on, I still get controller prompts, but I still can't get any type to input, don't even get a mouse pointer

I'm in 1440p on a G-SYNC 144Hz panel... wonder if it's a resolution or frame rate thing

Odd you do not even have a pointer..maybe try restart Epic launcher, as I did that after installing the game and before starting it.

Okay... I unplugged the Xbox One dongle and the official PS4 dongle (even though both controllers were off) and started up the game... I no longer get controller icons and can actually use the mouse and input text now... so I got to the main menu, lol... I'll try plugging in the controller again now and see if it works

In another thread someone got another controlerproblem that was solved by unplugging and replugging - maybe worth a try?

I think my issue was I also had a PS4 dongle plugged in and maybe it was seeing that an expecting input from THAT controller over the Xbox One controller... unplugging both got me past the text input, so at least I can move on now
