Controller remap is NEEDED
Having the jump permanently set as LB on xbox one gamepad is counterintuitive and awkward as hell. 99% of games use X as jump. This wouldn't be a problem if I could remap controls but as far as I can tell there is no way to do so. Please include this in an update, right now it is extremely awkward

Thank you for your interest!

We are currently working on a key-mapping system(with pad),support DualShock(and other dual stick controllers), and improved control convenience options.
It will take time, but we will be able to show it soon. (maybe....)

Thank you!

Thanks for the reply. Refunded for now but once these changes are added I might come back and give it a second look. I just can't get used to the controls the way they are now

i'm gonna level with you .
the way the controller is mapped will be the only comfortable way to aim the right analogue stik AND attack AND jump AND dash , sometimes all in one motion.
if jump is mapped to a face button, you will find wuickly it works much better asa shoulder button, when it omes to using the right analgiue stick in 360 degree aiming.

every game i play with this set up has ppl complain, and then they realize it makes it harder to play with jump anywhere else.

I dunno. I've played plenty of games where X is jump and I still managed to jump, swing, and aim with no issues. That's why remapping needs to be a priority. So people can experiment with whatever control scheme works the best for them.

I just could not get used to LB. It is counterintuitive because no one maps jump to that button. I was constantly hitting X from muscle memory. It was just too hard to jump, aim, and attack with all of my instincts working against me. It was like trying to tie my shoe with chopsticks

The left stick button is also jump and steam big picture mode allows you to remap your controller for any game.
Cheeseburglar Feb 21, 2018 @ 5:17pm
Agreed. Also, aiming is hard since the curser seems to lock on to moving enemies and move away from where you are aiming. Much better with M+K
Kev_6969 Feb 21, 2018 @ 9:07pm
This is actually ass on the controller... Like not the least bit intuitive.

I have to agree, it is an enjoyable game with the exception of the controls. It's great that some people can use it however for me it is a deal breaker until remapping is available. Also the jump will not work if you are even REMOTELY pointing down on the stick which when your using the same hand for the jump button, happens way to frequently ... refund until fixed

I already refunded days ago but from what i remember clicking the left stick was just about as awkward and imprecise as using LB. This needs fixed, quickly

Mouse + Keyboard way easier than controller, I would even argue if mapping was an option it still would be.

Remapping was introduced in update that released today. That was quick.

I just downloaded the game and am having a ♥♥♥♥♥ of a time with the controller settings. It looks like there is an option to remap the controller but it doesn't seem to work. I can't even see what the default button settings are. I keep getting a big blank box when it tells me which button to use for what and I can't get passed the dash section in the tutorial because none of the buttons do a dash. (Using a Nintendo pro-controller)

**the dash suddenly started working but it's really akward because the jump is LB and the dash is LT

Since the game takes an effort to show XB/PS buttons, I'm assuming that it doesn't know what to show for Nintendo controller. If controller works in-game, chances are that you can still remap controls even though it doesn't show the imagery. Defaults are
Fire - RB
Swap - Y (b4)
Jump - LB
Reload - R Stick
Dash - LT
Character Status - Dpad Up
Inventory - Dpad Right
Map - Dpad Left
Main weapon skill - A (b1)
Off weapon skill - B (b2)
Interaction - X (b3)

It was introduced but it hardly works and doesnt fix the jumping issues with the game. Remapping your weapons secondary abilities just straight up doesnt work, and when your aim is also tied to your move aiming a ranged weapon with the controller is essentially impossible.
