My strategy has been:

-Be Lotus
-Spec 20 points into Mystic, find an Uzi and never let it go
-Do your best to get the magnifying glass (if you can get it from the shop before you go in, lol, you're set)
-Win

Also:
-5 points for double jump/triple dash, 5 points for whatever (I like +20% gold)
-Relatively balanced food diet between defense, health, evasion, power, and critical chance now that evasion is no longer god-tier
-Be sure to grab one or two "chance to shock" foods (I like to get my first one in the jungle and a second a little later), it will massively increase your damage with a rapid-hitting weapon

Lotus is a character/costume, not an item.

The magnifying glass is a blue item; you can occasionally buy it from the shop. I don't know if the blacksmith or gunsmith can drop it; maybe the gunsmith can. Additionally, I'm not sure what it's called exactly; I think it's the magnifying glass, but it might be something slightly different - its effect is to enlarge your bullets and increase their damage, while reducing your rate of fire slightly.

Gold+ isn't bugged, they changed it not too long ago so that it causes more stacks of gold to spawn, rather than making the stacks worth more.

Hello! I'm a dungreed player who finally succeded in ending final chapter after the update.
I reccomend you use thief costume with 20points on mistics and 5point on attack and 5points for triple jumping.
The best item you could hope for is TAANA.
With TAANA's shield you won't have to eat health fairies.
And the best weapon would be the ones with higher damage.
For example, Dragon's Mace or 9th Floor Boss's weapon would be the best choice!
Phara 18 ABR 2018 a las 11:34 a. m.
won severao streak with normal and second adventurer costume
- 20 strengh and 10 greed tree
- get atleast 25% crit and deff by food or items after that only strengh and hp food
- get mini slime canon and magnifying glas = win
- if you dont get the canon use any kind of weapon with high base dmg and hope for a magical anvil (20% dmg bonus).

after the latest patch it become way easier to beat the game
progect savior 18 ABR 2018 a las 12:18 p. m.

If for real i would say stack evasion and get weapon that aloows you to be out of sight for foes (mine slime maker, teenage wand. You get what i mean)
itssirtou 21 ABR 2018 a las 8:08 p. m.
I've been making it pretty far pretty consistently with Rider and 10 power 20 Agility (the invincible while dashing is so good) Buying into Evasion, Burn, and Movespeed.

I like to try to have a weapon with a wide arc for Niflheim, and otherwise rely on ranged weapons. I've actually found the Boomerangs ability to go through walls very powerful for cheesing.

Hi !
Today i went to Arsha with this build (and won my first aventure) :

Criminal (Power!!!!!!)
Be sure to always be full inventory

20 points in Greed (compensate HP lost+1 item slot and satiety)
10 points in Mystic (Evade and crit)

I've eaten one power food, one max hp food and then only evasion (71% at the end with items)

Items :
-Flamethrower(luck was on my side). Go BURN IT DOWN
-Something ranged for things you can't burn
-Blessing of the sage (Lots of stats)
-Silver Earing (evade op)
-The watcher (though i did replace it with another evade item, less powerful because i could not loot it)
-Magnifyng glass (works on flamethrower, lots of damage)
-(Keep a bloodstone ring on you to heal if needed, worked great for me)
-My favorite : Voluspa. When thing get hard, find a place to hide and watch them die slowly.(executed a boss before i died :p )

Obviously you'll be a glass canon but flamethrower is reall powerful and you have only to get rid of range ennemies (burn these spear throwing lizards for me)
Don't trust too much your evasion, even at 71% you''ll take damage and it really hurts.

Thanks for reading !

SPOILERS :(stop reading there if you don't want to be spoiled mechanics about how to kill some bosses)

You can destroy some of Nilfheim's projectiles
Lasley takes three times to be really killed. It's surprising the first time.
Dont go into Arsha's portal.
This build has not been tested against Kaminela, the real boss of the game.

I play usually as Fatso and spec into whatever I feel is necessary. I'll spend my early floors building up hp, defence, evasion, crit and (if you really need to) power. Once I get to the Slime Maker/Lasley floors is when I buy my special effect buffs since you can get an average of 25-30% for 30 satiety which is a really good trade. Rest of it is how you get drawn, a really busted item combo is jump boots and wings as it's a constant 50% power boost. Uzi with magnifying glass and crit buffs is also really, really good. Don't need over 50% crit due to the high dps the weapon gives.

Also I run invincibility dashes with 125 satiety. Helps for early and late food sprees as well as getting around and not dying to later floors enemies/bosses.

Some tips for the bosses though:

Melee weapons destroy Niflheims projectiles (Not sure if this is a unique trait to legendary ones though)
Against Tunak, when he spawns his lizards on top of himself uses your dashes to kill them all as fast as possible otherwise the stunning and spears will make the fight really hard.
Envyrok is really easy, just chill on the side lines or use invinicibility dashes when he spawns projectiles in the air and his crushing wall does nothing if you get into the hide holes.
Slime Maker is also pretty easy, pay attention to where the slimes are spawning as well as where his gun is if you don't want to just sit in one place holding left click.
Lasley has three lives, kill the minions that spawn after each time he dies as quick as possible. Best position to sit in against him is either right on top of him, behind him or jumping up under him.
Don't go into Arsha's portal, carry on going forward.
Use invincibility dashes to dash through his following projectiles like you would for homing missiles. Don't get pulled into his portals, they kill you instantly, his spinning lasers do constant dps so you can't tank them properly. If you have wings sit inside of the circle where he flies and hold left click for free damage.

I recommend bringing back bounty hunter using 20 mystic then resetting the game until the shop gives you magical magnifying glass, an item that increases damage but decreases attack speed. bounty hunter's attack speed is determined by how fast you click so there's no downside. Outside of that, use the gunman costume and put your points from mystic to greed for the extra item slot. Also, this build does NOT work for Lasley as he deflects projectiles during his red eye phase. You can wait the phase out, or try using another weapon to beat him.

Obligatory Git Gud here, and *MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW*.

There are multiple ""best"" strategies to win, however the build you aim for should always be dependent on your character. For example (assuming you've beaten erta ale) the strawberry is powerful on pickaxe king but almost useless on alice.

Just recently I had a dps build so overpowered that I managed to out-dps Ericha and Erta ale as alice, a relatively squishy character. In essence, I had bounty hunter and secondary pistol ruby as my weapon, along with scouter, missile doll, megingjord, and magnifying glass. I then ate for crit chance almost exclusively, only eating for defense to let me facetank third-phase Ericha as a ranged character once my dps was high enough. I was pulling out an average of 80+ damage a shot and hitting hundreds of shots per minute, probably putting my dps somewhere around 300-500.

I want to emphasize that a lot of the fun in this game is messing around with builds and trying to make what you find work, and that you should avoid hardmode until you can reliably beat kaminela in easymode on a non-lasley character. Hardmode changes enemy damage values, gives bosses some new attacks or makes their existing attacks more frequent, adds minibosses, and decreases the average rarity of all loot found. Due to this, you may also choose to go balls first into hardmode instantly so that when you return to easymode you feel like you're fighting niflheim with the beast marks sword.

The best ranged builds are usually based on crit, and the best melee builds are usually also based on crit. Do whatever you want of course, but I would def recommend trying to get the red hellwing things that boost your power by 50% but reduce your crit damage if you want to build raw power. Kind of hard for power to compete with crit in any other scenario (with the notable exception of lightsaber + damage bonus based on gold magic anvil upgrade).

A good set of rules I like to follow for any run is:

Fast hitting weapons and/or appropriate boutique characters should always build and eat for crit damage

Slow hitting weapons should prioritize power and defense penetration from the magic anvils,

Don't play fatso without specing/building into movement and expect to beat erta ale,

Every time you watch the cutscene where Dungreed (aka "???") tells you that eating the entire ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ village was an accident, give it the finger,

Overwhelming violence is usually a better defense than actual defense, as seen in the Alice build I discussed above,

If you can afford bibimap, but don't choose to eat it when given the option, you should just uninstall .

Last but not least, it is imperative that you become very familiar with stats, damage types, and how they interact if you want to start breezing through hardmode runs. I won't go in-depth on it here because I just saw someone posted a stat guide, but a good example is the fact that dash attacks do not appear to be capable of critical strikes. I believe this is because a dash attack is its own instance of damage calculated on your total weapon damage + power bonus and ignores critical values. They also do a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of damage and crit-dashes would probably be capable of hitting numbers above 180 per attack.
