Limit on keeping items after dying?
Is there such a thing? 'Cause I've been using the perk that let's you select one item to keep after you die, and I've been doing this without any problems—until now.

What happened was that after dying I selected the Blunderbuss as the item to be carried over. However, suddenly some strange symbols popped out (the same symbols you see floating around in various treads in these forums; is it Korean?) and I was unable to select the Blunderbuss, no matter how many times I clicked it. Kinda disappointed, I selected the second best item. But the sudden appearance of these illegible symbols makes me suspect this was some kind of a bug, as I'm using English as my prefered language.

It should be noted that the Blunderbuss in question had previously been carried over 2 or 3 times.

It was also magically enhanced.

Ouch, that sounds like a bummer! 'Cause if you are indeed correct, then what incentive is there for me to carry over my weapon of choice, if I cannot enchant it? Sure, enchantments rarely seem to be all that superpowrful, but still, I don't see the reason why you shouldn't be able to carry such items over.

Its definitely the enchantments. Which means you want to not enchant your main item, just the sidearm.

Also you get a weird message when you try, either in some Eastern language or magic script

I wonder why you can't. Can you enchant multiple times? They certainly aren't worth embargoing for 4 defense...

That's really unfortunate, but well, like I wrote before: enchantments don't seem to be all that powerful, so I guess I'm gonna stick with using the vanilla weapons, in case I would like to carry them over after dying.

The message you've posted is the same that I got, and it's definitely some real-life Eastern language. I still think it's Korean but I might be wrong. I've seen a lot of treads in these forums, posting using a similar script.

Also, loving your profile picture! (being a happy owner of two terrifyingly cute fuzzy cat snakes myself).

Yeah they're great. Don't have any atm, carpet everywhere where I moved, no good place for them to romp

Yeah, I mean, you can enchant your off-hand (if you're using one) and your accessories; I've never felt really limited by the inability to enchant my main weapon if I want to keep it. It is kind of silly though, IMO. Just let us keep the enchantment (although keeping an item is already powerful enough, to be fair).

Random stats don't seem to carry over when you leave the dungeon, so why not just make enchantments not carry over either?
That way, you can keep the favorite weapon, but you'll have to luck out on finding an enchantment room again next run if you want the extra buff.
