Are the controls really that bad?
I won't buy a game with bad controls. Otherwise it looks like a nice game.

i had no issues with the controlls
with a gamepad its feels strange, but with mouse and keyboard its feels naturally

I agree with Pliskin0207, I started out on controller, and it's very unintuitive. And I was hesitant to use KbM because I always tend to have a lot of issues with keyboard controls for platformers. But the controls here feel very nice. They work well around the natural "wasd claw" and springing around with jumps and dashs takes a little getting used to (just like in any game like this), but once you get it under control, makes sense.

KnM controls are nice.

KBM controls are perfectly fine, haven't tried with controller, never saw the point in using a controller where you have to aim all around you

The keyboard and mouse controls work fine.

I usually play games with an xbox controller and for this game it is an awful choice. I played the whole game with mouse + keyboard and the controls were perfect. Even if they improve the joystick controls, I would still suggest everyone to play with mouse + keyboard if they can.

Avoid playing this game with a controller and you should be fine. Standard WASD controls.

Agree with all above

Controls are amazing

There is no option to change your buttons if using a controller, so you are stuck using the L1,R1,L2, & R2 buttons for attacking and jumping. It is very hard to get used to if you play other games that simply use the XYAB buttons.

Mouse and Keyboard work fine, but I prefer a controller. Not sure why a game in 2018 doesn't have the ability to map the controller buttons to whatever you want...

Playing with a controller (or even M+K) was bad because of the jumping mechanics but it seems they have fixed it in the latest patch. Game is MUCH more responsive. Total credit to the devs :)

Gamepad uses the right analog stick for aiming (twin-stick style), so it ties your main actions to the shoulder buttons. Mapping your primary actions to the shoulder buttons isn't actually uncommon with such a control scheme.

What is arguably uncommon is to see a gamepad-based game that uses side-view, gravity-based platforming that uses such a scheme. Normally, such games don't use right-stick aiming. The ones that do are as likely to tie both aiming and attacking itself to the right stick.

As with any control scheme, if you don't have prior experience with such games, it can feel awkward for a while. Honestly, even if you do have prior experience with several such games, it can still take a little while to get back into the swing of it if it has been a while since you've last played any such titles.

I seriously don't get what people are on about when it comes to the inability to rebind keys when using a controller; I can rebind just fine. I'm using the right trigger to dash, right bumper to activate main skill, X to attack, B to jump etc etc.....the only issue I have is that I can't actually "aim" using the right stick but the left stick functions just fine (you just need to adjust your distance for certain weapons and shooting whilst standing still becomes a tad harder)

I played with keyboard+mouse and have no complaints.

Buy it yourself and try it out? And if you don't like it return it
