No npcs after floor 12?(SPOILERS)

Hey so ive been getting through this game and i recently just passed the lava levels for the first time, the next area is the forrest and then the desert. However when i reached these levels i couldnt find any more npcs:(. I know i forgot to look in every room on the first forrest level however i looked almost everywhere from the second forest level to almost all of the desert(i died) and couldnt find anybody. Does anyone know if i just got unlucky or if there arent any after floor 12. However if there are npcs after floor 12 i love to know what they do. Thanks for the help :)

Last NPC I unlocked was NPC which gives you a free gun and unlocks some guns to drop.

I think the forest had one npc on it. The desert i'm not actually sure.

Knight
Clothes
altar
blacksmith
gunshop
item shop
Carpenter in the middle which you save earlier.
And the mage at the end.

all people you can have.
