Dig spot bug

So, flowers that spawn in the desert biome are spawning dig spots that don't go away after digging them. I think they're causing dig spots to no longer spawn in the other biomes because I haven't seen dig spots outside the desert for a while now.

I'm playing in casual mode without mods or cheats.

I have rarely seen any digging spots outside of the desert. The last time, I can remember, was when I didn't have the desert yet.

Haven't thought about that flowers cause those digging spots, but from what I've seen it seems like the game somewhat creates multiple digging spots on one (only occured in the desert) and you can get rid of them if you seperately dig them up

I'm not sure if they fixed the dig spots yet, but those at least don't LOOK like the infinite ones I was getting. The infinite dig spots were much darker and slightly larger than the regular dig spots.

While you wait for this bug to be fixed, there are some ways to get around the desert dig spots.

Get a robotic shovel, luck potion, and some lighthouses in the place you want to dig. I somehow got some frozen relics (the one I didn't have when I made this post) like that without dig spots.

Or make a shrine in the biome you need, and hope for the dig spots blessing. Maybe grab a luck potion to increase your chances.

My game is the same where I get lots of dig spots in the desert, and none elsewhere. Still need frozen relics :-/

I am having a similar issue. Dig spots only spawn in the desert for me. I get lots of them in the desert though, more than normal.

My only solution was the shovel that gives rare items anywhere :-(

The shrine effect combined with a luck potion is the best way to get the other artifacts, if you want a workaround for the actual bug then you could plant anything except a flower in the complete deset biome so that there is no space for a digspot to spawn there.

Can confirm this issue. Seems as soon as you unlock desert biome, dig spots stop spawning in other biomes completely and the only dig spots are in desert under flowers.

This bug has been around for at least six months. This is probably the fourth or fifth time it's been reported. It's a major break in the intended progression sequence. I wish we'd at least get an official confirmation that the devs are aware of it. We've gone through several patches since it was reported and this bug has never been addressed.
