(resolved) run out of memory on launch
The game opens, runs VERY slowly and eventually crashes because it ran out of memory; never even make it to the main menu.

windows 8.1

intel core i5-4210U 1.7GHz

NVIDIA GeForce 840m
driver version 27.21.14.5148

8 GB memory

Edit: no mods

found the problem: the latest Nvidia driver was at fault, switched to integrated graphics, no further problems to report.

hi dude i have the same problem could u tell me to how to switch it to the integradet graphics pls?

go to the nvidia control panel,
"manage 3D settings",
"program settings",
select forager (or add it if its not there)
switch from nvidia card to integrated graphics

Edit: there's a possibility that your computer doesn't have integrated graphics if the option isn't there
