No way to pause?

First off, I want to say I'm genuinely very impressed by the game. I've been pretty skeptical/negative towards the game but it didn't take long for me to get hooked once I started playing it. So I eat my words and say well done for creating something special here.

Anyway, the reason I'm creating this thread is to ask if there is any way to pause? And if there isn't, why not?

I couldn't find away to pause (but maybe I'm just missing something) but if there isn't I'd very much like to see pausing added. As far as I'm concerned there's never really any reason to not have it in a singleplayer game.

Opening the menu over escape will stop enemies from targeting you. If you want to completely pause the game, you will have to open either skills or feats menu.

I thought a pause function wasn't needed when I originally coded the systems. Since you can open the inventory and enemies won't target you anymore (and you also don't lose energy), but also you still get crafting progress and resource spawns.

If the suggested pause feature on Nolt gets enough votes tough, we can definitely add it! Something like pressing P to pause the entire game maybe?

I didn't realize that enemies stop targeting you when you open the menu. That's quite cool actually.

I think pause would still be helpful, say if you need to leave the computer for a little while, so your lands don't get completely overrun with new trees, minerals etc. I'm not super familiar with Nolt but I'll take a look at that. Thanks for the responses.

Sounds like a good idea to me! Especially as it seems to be one of the top answers on there. Nolt looks pretty neat, I'll be sure to add anything I think of as I keep playing the game.

+1 vote for full pause - sometimes you need to step away for a moment and being able to do so without exiting would be nice.

Personally, I would find a simple pause when minimized to be useful. I've had a few times today where I needed to switch to another window to look something up something unrelated and having all the music and such running in the background was a bit distracting.

Ya especially for those newer players fhat may have drank too much coffee this morning scrambling to find a button to halt progress for 5 min a pause button or a simple halt to the game when you press escape. That's what I instinctual went to. Love the game! Didn't think I'd get this addicted so fast

Also, isnt the game technically paused when you open your skills menu? This doesn't fully remove the music, but you can just mute that...

Please, give me an easier way to pause the game. It really helps dealing with the stress of having multiple tasks being able to easily pause, think, and then get back to business. I know some people dnt care about that, but for me this would be huge, cause i need to constantly pause and think about what i'm doing, not being able to do so is simply stressfull to me, for the love of god just give me one button to pause the game instantly.
Yes, it's worth bringin it back, i'm not finding any mod focused on that, but if there is one please just give it to me and i'll be happy to take it and shut up.

I love that mobs won't attack me when I'm in inventory screen, useful for people who want to grind afking.
But I would love to be able to pause the the entire game with "P" (or whatever key) too.
I heard the game isn't developed anymore since 2019 tho, so there is no chance we get it
