What does the droid do?
Also why can you right click on buildings with it? What does it do?

Droids are pets that follow you around, mining nearby resources and attacking monsters (generally in that priority, if I recall). Right clicking them to a building increases the building's productivity, forgot the percentage. Probably up to 25%.
