How do i access the void?

I have the steam version of forager, am I missing something? I'm looking at the combat update on youtube and it seems i have none of those things. I have version 2.0.4, steam does not prompt for update

You get the sigil maker and make a portal. This will send you to the void zone where you fight enemies and get materials there. You can fish, mine, and dig there as much as you like after clearing the first wave.

Learn the Summning skill, it unlocks sigil makers. It's in the "Magic" section of the skill grid.

I don't have that skill, is everyone on version 2.0.4 or what? I tried subscribing to forager evolved in the workshop but that hasnt done anything either

I'm having the same issue. Running 2.0.4 on Proton and simply don't have the option to do this. I was hoping to find someone had a solution. Ah well, I guess I'll move on to another game. It was entertaining while it lasted.

So, I'm guessing both of you are on Linux, for whatever reason, Linux is stuck on 2.0.4, you have to right click it, go to compatibility, check Force Compatibility Tool, and switch it to Proton, otherwise it's running natively, and the Dev seems to have just completely abandoned the Linux version as the latest version is 4.1.9
