How do I use the bow?

Hi there, I've been playing Forager on PC and I can't get the bow to shoot. Did they change the controls, progress is painfully slow as I can't mine materials quickly enough using the pickaxe alone. Help!

you need arrow, just hold left click to shoot

Well, that doesn't help much considering I have 200+ arrows on hand and the bow still won't shoot. I've tried this with both mouse +KB and gamepad. The bow doesn't shoot at all...

Edit: Ah, figured it out. For some reason the bow displays how many arrows I have in total, but unless I actually keep some on my person, it still says I have 184 arrows left but won't fire. Sorry!

... That UI is confusing as hell.

I've been playing this save for 8 hours without a bow and mining using the pick axe alone is excruciating. I'm so glad it works again!

do the desert dungeon. it drops a rod that makes it incredibly easy to mine.
