PSA: Altar in the skeleton maze is a scam

So i went into the skull maze and found this altar thingy, it promted me to either get 3 levelups instantly and loose a permanent heart or "spawn powerful monsters" i thought to myself "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 3 level ups thats incredibly useful but there has got to be some good drops from these powerful monsters that make it as useful as the 3 level ups" so i went with the monsters...

dont go with the monsters...

you give up a permanent heart container f o r e v e r to get... wait for it... 10 sekeletons 14 slimes some demons and some weird cow bull things and THATS IT

the exp you get from them is worthless, the loot you get from them is... worth a couple of coins but not a HEART CONTAINER amount of coins

so now im left with 2 health bars and nothing in return right, so i think of beating a refund out of that shrine and press e on it again and then guess what

there is no refund, no reparations and best of all, there is no way to opt out from sacraficing a heart container if you press e on the shrine

you are forced to either give up heart for one useless thing or give up heart for other useless thing THERE IS NO GOING BACK

my options this time were:
monsters a g a i n and food items and by button mashing i actually summoned the monsters AGAIN and so gave up 2 hearts in exchange for some bones and slime

and there is no viable way for me to undo this curse since spirit orbs are a limited thing? so i will have to waste 2 of them to gain back the hearts as opposed to something more useful like exp boosts or stamina.

this oversight belongs fixed in my humble opinion



TL DR: i lost two heart containers and got virtually nothing in return, there is no way to undo without wasting spirit orbs all thanks to the altar in the skeleton maze.

You can see the trades and don't do any if you close the game, but you'll loose everything you did inside the maze.
The orbs for hp upgrades can be crafted later in the game, so don't worry, you can have all health that you want.
3 levels and the droids are the only worthy thing from it.

You don't even need that much health once you get even a single droid or more powerful equipment- hell I'd happily sacrifice a heart for a droid when given the chance because holy crap those things take a LONG time

Health is N O T H I N G in later game. I don't even have everything and I can get like ~2-4 orbs every 10 minutes through the markets. I would have gone with the levels because you can use 1 orb to get 1 health, then use that 1 health for 3 levels, gaining two more levels than you would have through using 1 orb. It is neat.

For a while (around 10 hours of gameplay) after i had access to the demon alters i spent around 7.5 hours at 1 heart for fun

Get a little farther in the game, and you'll be spending hours at said altar...it's definitely not a scam lol
