Ignore the first four symbols in every 8 symbol set to make it a lot easier to understand. If you can't figure it out from there, then you don't know the solution in real life and the game won't teach you.
Bigger Hint / Flat Out Explanation:
The sequences under each monitor are Binary ASCII Character Codes. The ones below the monitor are specifically for numbers, 0011 is the first half of the codes for 0~9 and some symbols. The second half can be read as a binary number. 0011 1000 for example, is 8
Monitor Explanation:
One Shape = One. Two Shapes = Two. Three Shapes = Three.... so on and so forth.
This however, is the equivalent of throwing a random phrase in an obscure language out and saying "translate this" without also providing a dictionary. It'd be another thing entirely if the puzzle gave some feedback as to if you were on the right track or not (maybe the consoles lighting up or locking into place when you select the right 'number) so you could at worst case scenario guess/brute force your way into the solution.
