Is this game REALLY worth it?
I'm an anime and visual novel enthusiast. Nekopara, Sakura series, all kinds of hentai etc. Yet, when it comes to this game...

After checking the forums here and doing some research about this game in general, I've reached the conclusion that this game is TOO much of a hassle. It's not really worth buying. And I'll analyze my opinion so bare with me.

1) This game hasn't been updated or supported by it's devs in 2 years now.

2) It's too expensive. 46 Euros full price. 23 Euros discounted price. And you pay that to get what exactly? Which brings me to number 3 below...

3) The Steam version is censored. You need to buy or find a patch (or is it more than one patch?) in order to make the game full again. MANY people mention incompatibilities and all kinds of technical difficulties with the patch(es). Wrong language, many versions of the patch, difficulties installing and implementing, tweaking Windows settings........ALL kinds of problems, you name it!

And let's say that someone actually has the time and conviction and reads through all 18 pages in this forum and finds the correct patch and correct way to install it and make it work. What is he getting for ALL THIS TROUBLE? Oh...pixel-censored genitals... In the traditional Japanese way of censoring genitalia. So, the game is STILL censored ANYWAY.

4) What exactly do you do in this game? You just talk to a virtual girl and you get to have sex with her. Why not talk to the Replika App on my phone instead, which is way more intelligent? Why not play VR Paradise which is completely uncensored and much cheaper?

Don't get me wrong, if this game had MORE content for the price that the devs are asking, and if the player didn't have to go through ALL THAT CRAP, JUST to make the darn thing work properly and be SOMEWHAT uncensored, then it would probably be worth the money and effort. But as it stands now, it's TOO much work and a VERY high price for too little of a return of investment...

Why can't things be SIMPLER? Pay money, get FULLY functioning product, END of story! I'm NOT gonna go through ALL that, just to install and de-censor this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing, which hasn't been officially supported in 2 YEARS and is way too overpriced for the content that is offering! This is insane!

At least with Nekopara, I get CLEAR instructions on how to apply a patch and the product is cheap and ready to go! Not to mention supported and not abandoned.

EDIT: 5) The game doesn't even properly support Valve Index!!!!!!!!!!

The Steam game was censored for obvious reasons since the game was released way before Steam changed stance with AO titles.

Regarding applying an external patch, its not much different than similar games which require adding or overwriting existing game files to the game dir. Unfortunately, this thing will not change as Steam is quite restrictive to what is allowed on the platform and more often than not goes full rogue removing titles without second warning even this title was not spared from Steam crusades.

For mosaics, that's an entire different issue and no amount of writing going to remedy.

For your last point, the game was finished way before Index was made available. Obviously it won't have proper support for the Index as its an outdated project. You should look forward to their next game that's been on hold for the past two years.

There is however a fan made patch to switch the pixelated genitals of the girl.
Also, installing the patches needed was easy. I also think everything should be included right from Steam, but at least you CAN get it all.

Cyberbeing did share his patch to remove the pixels on the genitals of the girl and I also made a full tutorial below the Community General Discussion.

Good luck :steamhappy:
