I got 7 out of 8 secrets found by myself without going back and planned to go search for the last one after I completed the game. Turns out once I go through the last square it erases my save file...

ARE. YOU. SERIOUS? I don't get the last two achievements because of THAT?

Well, ok I guess I'll have to deal with not having 100% achievements on this on, because I'm definitely not going through this once again!

This is something you could improve. Keep the save file active at last checkpoint. This is what I am used to by other games and how they do that.

there's no level select, so even with your save kept you couldn't have gone back to earlier areas to find the missing secrets.

Oh, you can't even go back into a completed world? Once you completed every level of a world and the world went black/white and you exit the world, it closes its doors and you cannot re-enter. That's too bad :(

That should be changed to that it's possible to search for unfound secrets or at least make it clear that you can't re-enter a world and all unfound secrets will be lost if you exit.
