Cannot turn the 1st capstan on the galleon in the cenote challenge tomb

The 1st time I got there and couldn't turn it I thought there must be something else on the ship I needed to fiddle with. But I've prepared everything else, and even checked through several walkthroughs and it appears it should turn as soon as I get there. All that happens when I try to turn the capstan is a very odd camera angle and absolutely no movement.

I can't turn it either. Did anyone ever find a solution?

Same here. I'm on macOS Sonoma. I can grab it, but cannot use the keys necessary to push it.
