The Mountain Temple \\ Can't swing across to the other wall

I am currently working through the Mountain Temple quest, however I have hit a bug which will not allow me to continue game-play. I am down in the caves, and the very first pillar you come to will not allow me to swing to the other pillar. I have tried to extend my rope all the way out, I have tried shortening the rope, I have even tried jumping and throwing a grappling hook but nothing works. I have also restarted the game and that did not fix anything. The game is acting like there is a rock or something blocking my movement, even though there is nothing there. My character makes noises as if she is hitting something and yet she is nowhere near the rocks. another thing to mention is the glitch where the hook becomes unattached to the wall where it is "secured" and starts floating midair. I do not know how to proceed seeing as though I cannot go out the way I came in, and I cannot swing across to the wall I must get to.
