Stuck on Eye of the Serpent (BUG)

So I'm the mission titled Eye of the Serpent. My objective is to open the second gate, the one where one of the rotating snake things with the water won't move because of some blockage. I go down there to try and remove it, but I don't get a prompt to use the pickaxe, like I've seen on other playthroughs of this section. Please help me because otherwise I'm stuck and can't do anything else in the game.

Nevermind I just found Templii's post from yesterday saying the pool has to be filled with water first.
