Display driver error
My system was playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider just fine until today. Now I'm getting a display driver error just before the menu screen. Then it crashes. It is (Ox887A0006: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG). I checked my system and my display drivers are fine. If someone could help, that would be great.

Disable DX12 in the launcher or use older driver. I'm guessing we're gonna have to wait for a hotfix from nvidia or the SOTTR devs to fix dx12 on the newest drivers.

Thank you. You just verified what I need to know. Where do I do this. I can't even get to the menu screen.

I was able to fix this temporary by rolling back the display driver in the device manager.

GeForce Hotfix Driver Version 431.18[nvidia.custhelp.com] fixed all of my problems. I was not able to play the game with DX12 or AA enabled but after I installed this Hotfix I get 70-110 FPS with maxed out settings on 1080p with a GTX1070.
I hope that helps! :thumbalift:

What worked for me was moving the game from a HDD to an SSD. Boots up just fine in DX12 and with RTX.

You could also try rolling back to version 294.
Latest update to the game is broken.
