How to fix audio stuttering!
I am trying to enjoy this game but my problem is that DirectX 12 causes audio stuttering. Even if I lower the settings, the stuttering is still there. I hope they fix this soon.

So if your're having the same issue, try disabling DirectX 12.

Hope this helps, and happy gaming!

The stutter and/or freezing that may occur has been fixed. If your using win10 OS then you should be using dx12. Set the sound to auto detect rather then using 1 of it's presets.

Also check your Windows sound setup as updates tend to change personal changes to the OS. Also check your headphones/speaker wires. I was getting horrible sound & thought it was the game come to found out my dog chewed thru the headphone wire in 1 little spot.
My sound is fine now that I've changed headphones.

I have a aux extender connected to my rear audio port on my motherboard. I did try without the extension to see if that was causing the stutter. But sadly not. I am gonna re install my sound drivers.

And I tried that and it doesn't help.

Known issue, I reduced it by switching to DX11 and enabling exclusive full screen, maybe it will help you too?

I was having the same issue right now and was researching for this problem. It's working fine for now, but I need to play more to be sure (I bought the game a while ago, but i'm playing only now as my RTX card just came from the store)

So, anyways, only to share my recent experience and (maybe) help anyone, I've marked OSTTR.exe to High Priority, No Preset audio, Low Dynamic, everything in my pc is updated and half vsync @120hz (my monitor is 144hz). Using DX12, RayTracing Ultra and everything maxed out except for AA that I'm using at SMAAT2x instead of SMAAT4x to get a few frames in exchange.

And, yeah, playing at 40 fps as average. I don't bother that much, only if it turns to 23 fps which I was getting with SMAAT4x.

Specs:
i7 6700K @4600hz
32GB DDR4 @2933mhz
RTX 2060 6GB @2070mhz
Using SSD.

SO you didn't set a preset audio in-game? I tried that and setting OSTTR.exe to High priority but that didn't work. I'll try it again and see if it works since they updated the game.

Sorry to necro this thread but I'm having the same problem. Switching between auto and the different presets didn't changed anything. Every few seconds, sometimes minutes the audio just goes silent to pop back again.

Are there newer fixes how to solve this?
