Why doesn't Darth Vader speak whatever language they speak in his universe?
maybe you should ask members of the US Congress why they don't allow refugees from South America enter your country
Vader speaks Galatic Basic which is basically english.
"Lucas intended to balance American accents and British accents between the heroes and villains of the original film. He also strove to keep accents "very neutral", noting Alec Guinness's and Peter Cushing's mid-Atlantic accents.[8] In critical commentary on Episode I – The Phantom Menace, Patricia Williams of The Nation felt there was a correlation between accent and social class, noting that Jedi speak with "crisp British accents" while the "graceful conquered women of the Naboo" and "white slaves" such as Anakin and Shmi Skywalker "speak with the brusque, determined innocence of middle-class Americans"

why ask the US congress? Lara is british.
exactly
the op is from the US of A according to his profile
which begs to wonder where were those sjws when the fat guy with orange hair was putting up that wall
which should upset people like the op way more than Lara not speaking Spanish, right?
I mean an entire galaxy speaking English? Does that mean the British empire conquered an entire galaxy in Star Wars universe?
Also if only the bandits speak Pandoran while the main characters speak English wouldn't that mean all the civilized people (good or bad) speak English while the savages speak their native language?
She is literally in another country. If you are going to visit a country that speaks another language it is on you to learn that language to the point you can have simple conversations.
I speak Spanish without my own native accent. It is really is not that hard. When I visit Mexico I speak Spanish. It is disrespectful to expect other people to speak your language when you are in their country.
Lol, this conversation isn't about Darth Vader, it is about Lara.
You are comparing worlds that are completely fantasy with a fantasy world that takes place in a fictional real world. They are two completely different things. You are mistaken if you think congress would listen to anyone but those that pay them. They make way more from lobyists than anyone else.
The only way I think the game gets away with Lara speaking English in Paititi is via the story that the leader of Trinity is from Paititi and probably taught the inhabitants how to speak different languages, or if not speak, at least understand.
Star Wars has no relation to Tomb Raider.
I'll reiterate my position about Lara's language ability here:
-- Lara should speak all those ancient languages. She's a genius archaeologist-adventurer and having her speak those languages only helps immersion and realism in the Tomb Raider games. She actually learns to read Mam, Quechua, and Yucatec in-game from those totems. Why not have her speak them? It would just make SotTR a cooler game. --
If the game didn't have the immersion option and the people of Paititi spoke english, I would still argue that the game and it's themes would be better served by having the people speak Mam, Quechua, or Yucatec. It's not a blight on the game that Lara doesn't speak spanish or Mam, Quechua, and Yucatec, but it does somewhat break immersion in an otherwise fantastic game.
It's the same thing for Rise as well.
I see criticism as a sign of respect. If I did not like the game I would not bother to criticize it. I personally like receiving constructive criticism as long as people aren't starting with insults to make a point. If I hear that I stop listening.
lol this is a freaking video game not the real life
and also how many countries have you been to?
and have you actually learned how to communicate in their languages before you went there?
A video game set in a fictional "real world" is not more real than games and movies set in alien world. They are as you said fiction.

"Definition of fiction:
something invented by the imagination or feigned specifically : an invented story "
Shouldn't you complain even more about Hollywood movies and quite a few other games?
and you think complaining about a fictional game character whom you think should speak your language would make a difference?
Don't you think there are way more injustices out there worth your time?
You know like the fact that the entire South America (minus Brazil) speak Spanish in the first place. I hope you know what your ancestors did to those poor natives.
