shadow of the tomb raider failed to load profile
HELP!!! Like title said ,when I upgrade win7 to win10 ,I CAN`T play SotTR . It keep said failed to load profile,wanna create a new profile, BUT ,even I chosen YES ,it still ask the same question AGAIN AND AGAIN. I don`t know HOW to solve this problem. I tried reinstall SotTR and Steam , vertifie SotTR , none of these worked! Please someone wise show me your wisdom.(P.S. When I still on win7 it crashed several time)(P.P.S I am from Asia ,English not my mother language , please pardon my incorrect grammar.)

as tu vérifier si ta carte graphique n'avait pas un problème ?

Before you can create the new profile you must delete the old one first.

I already deleted all profile I can.But it still won`t work...

My GPU should be fine.When I still on win7 ,it work! So I don`t think it would be a problem.

look in folder
Documents\Shadow of the Tomb Raider
should be a folder with a large number
inside that folder is your profile.dat and save files

perhaps game cannot read the folder?
check antivirus log. might be blocking the game.
check windows security/controlled folder access. if on add exception for the game

running windows one drive? one drive moves the files out of your Documents folders and into one drive. tweak one drive to leave the game files where they are.

I tried all your suggests ,but still, it just won`t work. Thanks for advises , though!

I try to open sotTR without Steam ,and it said Failed to initialize Steam. Does it mean anything relate why I can`t create a new profile?

look in folder
Documents\Shadow of the Tomb Raider
should be a log file. see if there is an error msg

most steam games have library calls to steam so you have to run the game with steam running

Try this; Delete your profile.dat file in the save folder and disable your cloud sync for this game, here:
Right click the game in the steam client, select Properties, select General tab, disable sync.
Start the game and create a new profile, simple.
I suspect the cloud has a bug. If this works, and you leave the cloud disabled, then it means your only save file copies are local, there are no backups.

I will confirm that this worked for me. Apparently their cloud services isn't working for this game.

i have same issue ... what can i do.. pls tell
when i install SotTR first time .. a weak ago ..its plays smoothly and then play next time after close the game ... sam issue found . i tried lots of thing.. but failed

look at the log file in folder
Documents\Shadow of the Tomb Raider
might have an error msg

check windows event viewer and also windows reliability history
might have an error msg or system related issues
