DX12 fix yet?
So here it is 2021 and I have a brand new build. Ryzen 7 3700x, RTX 3060, 32GB 3200 ram. I STILL cannot play this game in DX12 without crashing. DX12 yields me 75-90 FPS maxed out but crashes frequently. DX11 does not crash but my frames fluctuate anywhere from 30-70 FPS. I have searched and search many a forum but found no fixes that work for DX12. Anyone have any suggestions?

If you have enabler ReBar, just disabled it for SOTTR via Nvidia Profile Inspector.

I did a full playthrough of this game before with a wonder woman outfit mod installed.

3060ti 8GB and game ran fine with max settings RT ultra 1440p. Now ever since I got a 4070ti super 16GB, updated a few drivers. Game crashes with Direct X12.....wtf!

Most, if not all, mod's for Shadow of the Tomb Rider (SotTR) aren't compatible with Direct X2, period. :baa:

Ok, so I can comfirm now that it's NVIDIA 572.16 driver that made this game unplayable. So I rolled back to 566.36 from dec 10th 2024. Now the game runs completely fine with direct X12 and with all my mods installed! :)

I have to disagree. All Special K mods require DX11, true. But - since the introduction of the new modelling tool (https://www.nexusmods.com/shadowofthetombraider/mods/185) most, I repeat, most, of them have no problems. The only crashes I experience are caused by a photo mode program, which is not a mod but a separate program which injects a dll into the SotTR executable.

Seems that the RT Shadows seems to crash with the new driver, with normal shadows it doesn't crash for me.

I happily stand corrected then. :baa:
After checking all the mods that I'm currently using for both Rise of the Tomb Raider (RotTR) and Shadow of the Tomb Raider (SotTR) are Direct X12 compatible and thus tried to start using it, even if albeit it sometimes causes some viewing glitches effects in one of those 2 games. Although most likely my older than 5 years old laptop rig is in some regards to blame for those effects due to having aged and thus its efficiency is clearly lower than when I got it.

These days I only want to use this game for the benchmarks.

My rtx 5080 (lucky to get early stock at msrp) crashes to desktop without info on the bench, mark when it switches to the second scene. Didnt happen on the rtx 3080. :-/

Not like I could take it being stuck on 10gb vram much longer. 🤷🏻‍♂️ So far only two games acting up for me. But would be good to know if others have the issue - c2d issues would make me think power issues but it would also be a problem in other games and would not be at a very specific point on one benchmark. 😅

572.42 update still hot garbage, sadly the driver crashed the game again just like 572.16 after doing some testing earlier in the morning. Rolled back again :/

566.36 is still the best for performance. No issues

It works fine if you turn off ray traced shadow quality and shadow quality.
