Once you get past a certain spot in the game, you can wear any outfit you want at any time.
we're talking about respectful, aware, allegoric and immersive experience design here.
aware and respectful because eidos knew it would look strange to have a modern looking rich lady around primitive looking people. imagine how awkward would combat would look like.
allegoric because eidos wants you to experience what it feels like to be around folks that will either talk to you or ignore you based on what you look like.
immersive because everybody knows 2 feathers on the shoulders are more than enough to conceil the fact that you're from the outside world.
and yes eidos also gave us a reason to stop treating Lara as a doll, because we all know we apply that kind of attitude IRL, so we should be thankful for the lecture.
jokes aside, basically they gave Tomb Raider in the hands of people who don't like the idea behind many aspects (if not the very concept) of Tomb Raider. that's the gist of it.
HA, bout mid-way thru your reply I started rethinking what you were saying. But it sure sounded like you were going in the right direction. Too bad it took you longer to type it up then it took me to move to another topic. Well Played
Once you get the Serpent's outfit, you can change into whatever you like. If you wear another outfit besides the Serpent or Unuratu's house colors, you loose the ability to converse with the locals or get past the Temple guards.
As soon as the game allows, I stop wearing both outfits.
Not true. You can wear other outfits, except on missions that require a certain outfit.
Ive ran all over the hidden city in different outfits. Only consequence is I could not talk to NPC's.
