RAY TRACING Worth it in this game?
I have a 144hz monitor, turning RTX On gives me 80fps and off 120fps.
It is worth it?

I suppose that at this point it is a question of preference, as different people have different sensitivities. I do not see much benefit from going to the extreme of 120FPS in this game as the game is generally slow paced (I played the game with a gamepad). My experience with FPS is that going from 30 to 60 is most noticeable, but anything higher than 60 FPS is hard for me (remark: me!) to tell. So, I probably would choose RTX if I had the option.

i dont have RTX card i have founders edition i tried game with ray tracing altho my card dont support FULL Ray tracing.. i got like 10 FPS from 50.. it stutter like hell

i feel i can buy RTX card on my birthday, BUT! it doesnt give much..only shadows and reflections
i will wait for price drop or just wont buy RTX until i feel i really need it.

Not really. It's koo but it does cuz your fps in half but there is dlss. Control is the game that's worth it to have RTX

battlefield 5 and control game has good raytracing.. but i see minimal difference on raytracing or not

I have a 1080 Ti so my version of Ray Tracing is limited and while I could tell a difference I figured I'd just wait until I got a 3080 Ti later this year. The performance I lost (Still ran the game around 40-50 fps with Ray Tracing on) was still playable I would rather have my 90-130 fps.

It's shadows only. That's why you "see minimal difference". There's no global illumination. Heck Minecraft has better ray tracing then this.

But pay attention to the shadows, and you'll quickly not want to use normal ones.

1050ti can't handle RTX in any game.

Well that's a 1050 Ti not a 1080 Ti. Now admittedily I do not play the game with this setting on because it makes me lower my resolution to 1080p and I like to play games at 1440p resolution. It is stable at 1080p however.

there is no ray tracing involved in this game, it's one of those falsely advertised games, it has ray traced shadows basically softer shadows with hefty performance hit same as games like call of duty. if you want games with real and impressive RT options go for control, minecraft, battlefield V and maybe metro exodus although it didnt really affect the looks much.

What makes no sense is you say it has no ray tracing and then go on to say shadows are ray traced. Come on man.
It's known there's no global illumination ray tracing, but the shadows are ray traced. ie: accurately placed from calculated sources. So check your facts man.

thanks for your pointless comment, "ray traced shadows" is basically soft shadows both in looks and realism at least in shadow of tomb raider. when there is no global-illumination how the hell the shadows could be ray-traced? next time check your fax before being a smartss. "accurately placed from calculated sources" sentence means you know nothing about how light sources/shadows work in the engines. that's literally what engines do and have been doing for decades now. set shadows accurately from the light source.

yeah ray tracing is beautiful but its NOT worth 1000 EURO

too expensive, i am not a millionare

You have no idea what you are saying. It is not " basically soft shadows". Shadows are rendered from, and because of light sources. As apposed to prebaked shadows. This sounds like a hard thing to grasp for you.

READ the description on the RTX shadows settings in game! Read it! It tells you what normal, medium, high and ultra do ffs. It is not merely "soft shadows". No clue where you are even getting that from.

"Ray traced shadows" is a RTcore powered shadow softener which tries to realistically soften shadows there is a similar option in GTA V or AC unity if you want to see the reference. both appearance-wise and performance wise this is the Soft shadows option lol. you are a genius for leading me to the description of the game when I'm literally saying it's a false advertised RTX title. go read Nvidia's articles on ray-traced shadows it's used for Soft Shadows and Soft Shadows only, and in this game it's not even remotely ray-traced cuz there is no ray to trace when there is no ray-traced global illumination you cannot possibly calculate where X or Y ray is landing on the object and what shape of shadow it's gonna cause, cuz there is no ray to trace in the first place :lunar2019grinningpig:
you are just some guy that has no clue and still tries to play the smartss figure in topics probably a teenager.

I play all my games in 3D including this. Apparently RTS makes 3D look crap so I dont even want to upgrade my card (from GTX1070Ti) -- In 3D a PC needs double the resources as the image is rendered twice so you need a more powerfull machine. I upgraded to be as future proof as poss to an i9 9900K Factory overcoocked and an Asus ROG Maximus Hero X1 (such a bloated name) But I only have 16 GB RAM. Corsair vengeance I get no lag or stutter but I can always add ram I guess. I thik when you are deep in a game you could care less about how great it looks.

Don't forget Quake 2 RTX! (Fully supported ray tracing+DLSS)
