Thanks for the heads up. I got the Digital Deluxe Edition for $25 cheaper (CDN) and get to play it Tuesday which will work out as I am almost done with AC Origins.
But you get to play 2 WHOLE DAYS earlier!!! 48 incredible hours that will forever be one of our greateset memories... if and only IF you spend that extra $10!! So only the special kids get access!! I am special!
Pathetic.
Amazing how little effort it takes to seperate basement barons from their $.

The monthly release of a new tomb for several months appeals to me.
Back then in the 80's and 90's, there were few ways to see if a game was good or not, even after release. When I put apart some money from my job earnings to get me a Sega Genesis and Sonic the Hedgehog, I didn't know what was I getting myself into, other than the little screens shown in the cartridge box and the console's own box art. Where I live, video game ads and magazines came a bit later (and I was about to get the very first Genesis into my neighborhood), so I really had nothing to tell me if it was good or bad. Still I bought it and never regretted.
A year or two later, Capcom released the Super NES version of the original Street Fighter 2, and local retailers went crazy with the pricing. They asked a whooping 165 dollars for the cartridge alone. The Super NES itself was selling for 150$. Of course, I didn't buy into that, and went later for the Genesis Special Edition (which added Turbo to the game) for a much cheaper but still rather hard 70$.
Anyway, I guess some of that blind buying stays in my gaming DNA. I don't feel I'm losing here because I bought quite a bunch of games for much less than retail in the form of sales, and in later times, those purchases have dominated my gaming wallet.
In the end, you are right. There is no reason to pre order, and there may be little reason to even buy at full retail (which mind you, I just bought a pre release game ON SALE already). But sometimes spending money is a bit like ignorance. If ignorance is bliss, happily spent money is well spent money.
Yes the game will include tombs, the extra tombs are for the season pass to further add longevity
