Cozumel survival cache bug fix

Had the fairly common problem of the 3rd survival cache next to the explorers backpack not registering in the game once dug up. Also my last "whistle in the dark" totem disappeared. Went back to camp and then tried going after them again but they no longer were there indicating they'd already been collected. Calling up a previous save didn't help. So I quit the game, went into steam and "verified integrity of game files". Then went back in and it still showed the survival cache and totem had not been collected. So did a little exploring and they now were there at their original locations (survival cache was flashing) waiting to be picked up. Weird! But I now have 100% for Cozumel.

Also on return visits to that shelf Lara refused to turn on her flashlight. Very dark! Really couldn't see a thing. What's up with that?

IDK, but like i said my buddy did the same thing and it didn't register for him either.

I just had the same problem. If you get the cache next to the backpack it says collected but if u fall and die after that it doesn't come up saying you have it but u cant go back to it. Seeing if your fix works

Definitely has a bug. The easiest way to avoid the bug is grab the Explorer Backpack first, then grab the Cache, then save and reload. If you Die on that jump, even if it says 100% on the map, it will go back down to 92% and you'll have to reload an older save and do it again. Hope that helps!

I had the same thing in Paititi. 33/34 survival caches complete but all 34 showed as grayed out. Verifying integrity of game files made it update to say 34/34 caches complete.

Verifiying integrity of game files by right-clicking the game title in Steam list and choosing "Properties" then "Local Files" fixed the Cozumel survival cache stuck at 2/3 issue. Thanks very much all!

Still happened to me in 2022. As said before, verifying game integrity and reloading the last auto save fixed the issue of 2/3 caches and I got my 100% completion. Thanks.

This just happened to me and I just wanted to add that all I had to do was quit to main menu and then click continue and it registered as collected as soon as I loaded back in.

This cache was, bizarrely, the last one I collected towards my 100% completion. Died in the attempt, cache gone from the level and from the map but no credit for collecting it. This thread (verify integrity of game files) solved my problem; when I logged back in, it still showed slightly less than 100% completion for the "Continue" option, but as soon as I opened the map in-game, Cozumel was 100% completed, Achievement complete, etc. Life-saving info here!

I had this bug, reentering the game helped, it registered after that.
