Stuttering and Memory Usage Problems (Solved)
I check my memory usage and the game is using about 1 GB RAM, 11 GB Video Memory and 16 GB pagefile memory. It also stutters when different transitions are happening or I'm moving through the environment. It almost seems to run better on ultra settings than medium settings. The entire game is 30 GB, so I'm thinking this may be some sort of issue. I also have an audio crackle that pops up from time to time. Win 7, 64 bit; i5 4670k with 16 GB RAM and a 1080ti.

edit: Beta 243, or the second one down fixes the memory leak for me. Audio issues remain, but are mitigated by revolving the sound type through stereo, 5.1, 7.1.. etc.

New record; 8 GB RAM, 19 GB Pagefile, 11 GB Video memory.

well first off it was a bit dumb to stick a 1080 ti in a system with an old 4 core cpu. pretty much every modern game will fully peg just 4 cores especially when pushing a 1080 ti. hell even my 4770k will have all 8 threads pegged in some games and cant even keep 60 fps. there will be games where your playable performance will be no better than having a 1070 with that cpu. not to mention some games will flat out stutter due to the cpu limitations.

Your cpu looks a bit weak. Reminds me of when I built my first PC.

You can’t just buy a strong GPU. You need both >.<

yeah he stands ZERO chance of running this game smoothly in DX11 with that cpu. DX11 in this game is as poorly optimized as it can be and even the very fastest cpus made struggle to hold 60 fps. DX12 is where all the work went into this game.

Its an old computer; I'm aware of the bottlenecks; the game runs fine for the first hour. My question was about the memory leaks. You're probably right though, it must be my CPU causing the memory leaks in the software. Thanks for adding to the discussion.

Pretty dated CPU and also DDR3 RAM. GPU still good so keep it and change the rest.

That's the plan in the upcoming months. I'm afraid it wont solve the memory leak, which is the most concerning. I've put off the upgrade for a while, because out of my library of 1k games, there's only a handful that would genuinely benefit. I still don't even have a 144hz monitor, so 60 frames is about the best I need. Most games hold steady. This game, with all ultra settings except shadows set to low, will run at 60 frames with only a few drops in places like the hidden city. There's only one other game that I have trouble with (FF15). The problem kicks in after an hour or two of play time, when I notice the game is starting to have massive frame drops for no apparent reason. I check the monitors and its collectively using more memory than the entire installation of the game. I figure that may have something to do with it.

Why would you even want a 144hz? Only change the monitor for better resolutions, not for hertz rates... unless you are a competitive-games player only.
Getting a 144hz with old components is for playing CS:GO and Overwatch 24/7.

the 144 would be in addition to a new computer. Memory leak... anyone?

The title of your thread, jackass, also mentioned stuttering. I'm pointing out that since you are in dx11 then you are absolutely going to get stuttering in this game with that CPU. If you actually paid attention a little closer I'm letting you know that the game does not run that well in dx11 at all and that is just compounded by your older CPU.

So much basic forum trash running around with no reading comprehension. Game runs fine for a while, and *then* the stuttering starts. When I check meters, memory leak. The stuttering is just another symptom I added in just in case anyone was actually wanting to be helpful instead of just making themselves feel better by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on my janky pc build. Audio crackle happens from time to time, but seems unrelated. Feel free to get angry and add hits to the discussion so it stays on the top. Thanks for adding to the discussion.:steamsalty:

Again get through that little pea-sized brain of yours that the game has dx11 issues and they are compounded with just a 4 core CPU. Maybe if you're lucky there's someone in your house with an IQ above 75 that can help explain that to you.

So what your saying is, my CPU is causing the software to be programmed poorly?

I still get this memory leak FPS drop after about an hour of play ! Quit to desktop and restart is the only workaround :(
I hope the devs will fix this even though we are in a whole new year and it still persists !

This guy's cpu must be causing the bad programming too... O well, I guess all of us plebs just need to wait until they patch our CPUs to release objects in memory properly.

Well I see it didn't work out on finding someone in your house will that IQ above 75 to help you understand. But hey keep on talkin and making a fool of yourself as it's clear that you are too stupid to even realize how stupid you actually are.
