Most likely you need to check your button mapping is all.
There was an update yesterday(?) and things that are not broken, suddenly become "unplayable." Matter of fact, within the last 48 hours, there's been another post about controller issues posted and here I thought that issue had been finally fixed.
So maybe, just maybe, it's in the game.
Have you searched at all thru General Discussions here in this forum for controller issues? Maybe read through those posts to see if you can fix your controller?
I use a KB so I'm no help to you with this issue.
Operator error is the most common cause of game errors. I am forever leaving my fingers in the postition best suited to Lara's next move, not the current postion Lara is currently in, hence a lot of jumping, grappling errors on this operator's part.
Turn them off in control panel.
