Game won't start anymore
After one month pause from the game due to work. I've decided to come back to finish the game only to find out that the game won't even start anymore.
The game launcher works. But when I press "Play" button in the menu, the screen turns black for few seconds and return back to Windows desktop. The game worked before.

Anyone has the same issue like me?

I tried:
Verify game cache
Uninstall/reinstall
Change between full screen and windowed mode
Launch the game in compatibility mode(Win7/8)
Launch the game with administrator privilege

Spec:
i78700k
GTX1080Ti
16GB RAM
Windows 10 Pro Ver.1803(Build 17134.407)
Nvidia driver Ver.416.34

Edit. The game crashed and returned to desktop without any error message. Sorry for not pointing this out.

Edit.
Tried to disable ANSEL like this post but it doesn't work for me :(

If the screen goes black and all you see is the mouse curser. wait about a minute and press, either space bar, enter, MB 1, and it should take you to the loading screen.

then thats too bad. my game will sometimes do the same when i 1st fire it up n start TR, and those were how i got the load screen up. it could also be somewhere in your monitor settings, but i'm guessing.

Did you try updating your GPU drivers?
All the rebooted TR games have similar problems if the games go wrong. Believe it or not, out of date drivers will cause all the TR reboot games to not run.
Try that.
I hate to do this to you, but you'll need to search through this forum, I believe General Discussions but also technical support, looking for file(s) that need to be deleted in order to make sure the reinstalled game runs like first time install. I do apologize as I've never had this type of problem with any of the games. I remember I read it, but not where or what post.
Good luck.

Having exactly the same problem over here... couldn’t play for a while. Wanted to play today, but after clicking play on the lauch menu, the game started with a black screen and closed after a few seconds. Any updates on this problem?

I just deleted the game. I might try to install the game again on a different computer with almost the same configuration to see if that will work.

Make sure you delete your data from Shadow before reinstalling.
That may be the problem, a corrupted save.dat file.

Now I had a problem with a different game to where some part's didn't fully load at time of launch. It was suggested I move the game folder to my C:\ . This in-turn did change how the game loaded and it worked fine after that.

Just reinstalled the game after I deleted all files (didn't do this the previous time). Everything is fine now I guess! Had to press the spacebar to activate the loading screen but other than that the game starts normal now!

Hi i had this problem I could not do the “first time launch” I found out Onedrive security settings was preventing steam from write to my document folder where the game saves are stored and also had prevented the folder from been created in the right folder (game folder in documents)
