Same for new game+ also the game doesn't respawn enemies, so your weapons are useless too.
However, once you reach the point when you can wear different outfit(s) the game will automatically put you back into the original Paititi outfit or the other outfit required to get around upper Paititi.
Lara showing effort in covering her skin is a bit silly, since three quarters of the men in Paititi are just strutting around in nothing more than thongs or G-strings, and in some cases, even dental floss to cover their meaty carrots.
I think that is more of hide modern clothes than cover Lara´s skin, that is why you can't either wear modern weapons on Paititi.For example you can wear the Wraithskin outfit from Rise of the Romb Raider as it is composed of leather and skulls. And some of the allowed outfits reveal more skin than the forbiden ones
Also, Lara is hiding from Dominguez and his henchmen, so she's going to walk around in "costumes" that don't match the locals, etc.
