Pillar DLC with seemingly impossible wall run?
I have attempted the wall run at the beggining of the Pillar dlc probably over 20 times now, and not one single time has it been close to grabbing the ledge. I am making sure to jump as late as possible on the largest swing and it doesnt work... This is one of the most frustrating moments that I have encountered this year in gaming. Something so simple is being so difficult...

You are not alone. You may also look back on it fondly later on during the same dlc, when you have to do a seemingly impossible ledge jump. That jump probably took me twice as long to do as the wall run. It's worth it though.

I'd say that the Pillar is probably the most unforgiving tomb in the game thus far, as there is no room for error on any of the jumps. It's very "nail it or fail it".

well i learned that you need to turn your camera and press forward after your jump to also follow through mid air with your momentum. i dont remember ever having to do that in the main game lol

this kind of wall jumps are annoying!!!

Is this the wall swing and jump? I made sure I grappled over as far left as I could before decending on the rope.
And then gave it an extra run. so first run to the left...then all the way to the right...then back to the left.
When Lara leaps it does glitch a bit, she bumps the scenery and jiggles down to the ledge :steamfacepalm::steamhappy:

When doing a wall run or swing from the rappel, make sure you release Lara from the rope at the highest point of the swing.

I swear to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ god. wall run mechanic is the only is not clear, buggy and demoralising. done this wall jump a millions and i get to the edge, high point of the leftward camera, aim my camera and jump. And yet lara never even close. this doest even act like a game mechanic and more like a cut scene out of telltale games.

Many parts of the 1st area in the Pillar are a bit of a challange yes. It's the only challange that requires you to stick to a very small piece of a ledge or wall. how short or long the rapple rope is also come's into play. to short and you don't reach the wall to long and your to high to hit the mark. once you find these "sweet spots" you won't remember all the problems you had getting there in the 1st place.

Very annoying jump. I finally got across by doing two things: Turning the camera in the direction of the jump, and not going to the very end of the rope on the rappel. Stop a little way above the white horizontal band. Good luck.

I am so glad that I'm not alone! I saw in a YT video (by Brendan Thompson) that there is a small jump after the wall run that automatically takes you to the other wall. So don't aim for the other wall, aim for the end of the wall run. Real f***ing frustrating.

Jesus, so frustrating... Failing over failing... My patience is getting smaller and smaller...

Omg, you just saved me from this torture. Thank you for the hint so much...

What seems to work is to wait with pressing JUMP until side jumping animation appears. At the end of the swing Lara gets animation played like she tries to grab something at the left. It seems that only when this animation is active doing jump will cause her to do it properly.

I see some people are suggesting pointing the camera in the direction of the jump. Didn't work for me. Eventually, in frustration, I pointed the camera in the opposite direction (to the right) which somehow worked.

It's 2022 and this still sucks. New for me, though.
