Is the season pass worth it?
Is standard edition the best edition for value? Or is the season pass worth buying?

Season pass works out to be that you pay for 5 DLC tombs, and get 2 free. If you have no intention of playing the DLC tombs, and aren't interested in the DLC weapons, outfits and skills, then just stick with Standard edition. Croft and Deluxe editions both come with exclusive content too, so same deal. One DLC tomb is released each month, so if you don't mind waiting til around May 18th for the last of the content, it's not a bad deal. That said, a DLC works out to be about the same price as a decent cup of coffee, so buying them as they come out isn't too bad.
It just comes down to personal preference.

That's just how DLC and season passes work...?

Yes. You can buy game with all DLCs below 30 pounds on greenmangaming and I think it is worth it.

Well, your best bet is to either pick up the Croft Edition during the winter sale, or buying the base game now, waiting til June, once you've had time to review all content and deem whether or not it meets your standards of expectation, and then just pick up the pass in the midyear sale

What if I do want more but it needs to be worth my while both in price and time?

I bought both 2013 and Rise on pre-orders. The DLC in those games left a lot to be desired as well, definitely not worth my time, Baba Yaga okay I guess. Still haven't bought Shadow. The trailers didn't blow me away and the reviews have been a bit lacklustre since release.

The standard edition costs £17.21 on GMG. The Croft Edition £26.01.
Well you clearly have doubts. Croft edition has more content. For reboots fans this is the only reason they need to get it. More Lara and more opportunity to spend more time in tombverse. Yes it is worth it to me, I have a feeling ut wont be worth it for you. Reviews were ranging from very good to average but to me it did not matter as I liked the way first two games were.

I wouldn't.
I have the season pass but I regret it. The first two DLC have been incredibly short and lazy.

There's voiced cutscenes in the DLC but you can tell they're hand-animated. They rarely show Lara's face in these because you can tell they couldn't be bothered giving her face any animations.

First DLC has co-op , so it was almost worth it. Then the second DLC doesn't have any (despite them creating a new female character for it.,.? Ok).

The story for both DLC also are completely inconsequential to the main game. First one is Abby (character in the game) finding out something that means absolutely nowhere and doesn't affect the story.

Second DLC is about going after a shield that was never mentioned before, but you need to go after it because the bad-guy wants it too. It also goes absolutely nowhere and is incredibly short.

For now, no. Don't buy the season pass. I would wait until all the DLC is finished and maybe it'll become worth it then, as for now? No. it's not worth it at all.

I say get it now, while it's on sale--assuming you like the challenge tombs.

The main value of the DLC is the 7 challenge tombs that you get. I love the tombs in SOTR, and the two released so far are among the best . The story and weapon/costume extras can be ignored, but an extra 5-7 hours of content for 20 bucks is worth it in my opinion.

They're barely 10 minutes long.... let alone 5-7 hours.

Each DLC adds around an hour of gameplay as a side quest in the main game, so yeah, 5-7 hours (more if you're taking in the scenery) sounds about right, once all DLC tombs have been released.

Pretty much. So far it took me over an hour in the main game. The tombs alone maybe 15 to 20min when you select them in the main menu.

...?

Considering getting a gold requires completing them in 6 minutes... no... they definitely aren't 15-20 minutes long.

I would say, in the main game, they make up for an extra 15-20 minutes. Maybe 10 minutes if you skip all of the cutscenes.

"1 hour"... wtf is wrong with you people..?

You can speed run pretty much every game. Resident evil 7 can be completed in 1 hour 29 minutes, it does not mean you need to do it on 1st playthrough and certeinly does not mean that its the way to play it. SOTR gold challenge requirement is for people who did the tomb and want to challenge themselves. SOTR is game about exploration and marvelling surroundings and beautiful artwork. 1 hour for 1st playthtough for each tomb sounds about right. Than you have challeneges so it adds to overall time and ultimetely value of the package. New outfits (the one from The Pillar is dope), weapons and one tomb in each DLC - while bethesda for the cost of whole SOTR season pass will sell you one santa costume. Like wtf? SOTR DLC is a great value.

not everyone is speeding through games. even if i would skip the cut scenes, it still would take me over 40min because i like to take my time.
the forge took me over an hour becuase there were several parts to the story until you reach that tomb. if i would play the tomb alone from the main menu, this would take me maybe 15 or 20 min on my first attempt.
the timed stuff i have never cared for so i leave that to people who like them, obviously they would be much faster.

so far i cant say that i have wasted my money on the croft edition. these 2 tombs have been pretty good and i expected an hour of content. and it is good that it is part of the main game and have their story instead of just giving a tomb that can be completed in a short time.
