I've played this series of games ince[topm and still miss these jumps, but I cid discover that in Shadow, the higher the difficulty the less chance I have of making the jump.
And not all games are the same.
I jump and release all the buttons (KB) quickly hit W to turn Lara's body in the correct direction and throw the grapple. I never miss that way.
My gaming bud says its cause I don't release the buttons when I throw the grapple and that could be true. And you could be doing the same, so release all buttons when you jump and need to grapple.
Maybe this is a no-brainer and I was slow to catch on, but it just didn't seem that intuitive to me, really.
So just look at where your grapple is likely going to be connecting (some places are harder to tell than others), and time your release of the grapple hook for RIGHT before you reach that point...making sure that if its not on-screen, that it just barely had the chance to go off-screen.
Man this took FOREVER for me to pin down, but I've had the most success with this technique ever since.
Good God that was frustrating!
Thats always been the way of TR. The dev's put this in and now you gotta learn a new trick. It's probably one of my favorites things about playing TR. Learning something new and having to work it to your advantage.
Now that the easy part is over (it's only hard the 1st time) I'll bet you'll have a better time playing. well at least till you make the final climb to the boss. Thats not gonna be fun. you can tell me bout it when you reach the top and kill the boss. Sound good?
Also I feel like the people suggesting to ''throw it at the right time'' deserve a majestically sarcastic slow clap: well done guys, would have never thought of that lol!
Never understood the faux pas nature of resurrecting old threads though. I mean, take this one...its been resurrected three times now because for whatever reason it shows up in a Google search (or whatever) for this particular issue. Doesn't seem to be any harm in adding to something that's apparently been helpful to others, you know?
As for me? Well I'm the one that made it all possible as the OG thread starter, so am fully satisfied in having made my mark on humanity either way. You're welcome...and yes, immortality is pretty amazing =D
This is a glorious thread, you should be proud.
