Game felt weak compared to previous ones.
Looks great, but that is all it has going for it. Story was not interesting to me at all unlike the previous two. Gameplay wasn't innovative and copy/paste from the previous game. It felt empty compared to the previous ones as well.

Anyone else feel the same? Just beat it and the end feels so lack luster.

Yea I agree, it was painfully average. Rise of the Tomb Raider had better graphics, better Tombs, better story, better outfits and better looking weapons. What is with the make Paititi great again storyline? Since when does Trinity give a dam about making Paititi great again? We must not let the citizens of Paititi discover toilet paper! We must protect them from the rest of the world so they can continue to live like it's 10000 bc!

The writing honestly went down in quality with each iteration.
The 2013 remake's writers were Rhianna Pratchett and Susan O'Connor, Rhianna is fine as she's written for some pretty good games, but i'd attribute it primarily to Susan who has written for some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ masterpieces.
while Rise only had Rhianna Pratchett, who did decent but there was a clear decline in quality. The new writer Jill Murray is a total dissapointment, looking into her she's written only a few stories for games that were in total meh. I'll pick the game up on sale for like $15 or $20 in the future if at all.
And for the people who ask "Why not support the DEV?" Well i'm simply following what you told me to do, "If you don't like it, Don't buy it."

Well it started off strong, but fell off pretty quick in terms of interesting gameplay and story telling.

Game isnt worth the full price. I see why gaming websites have been reviewing it poorly.

Hate to say it, but gamespots 6/10 review is deserved for this title.

The two main drawbacks are, horrible plot writing and lack of escitement outside of scripted surf scenes

I guess some players lose interest when the title finally starts to focus more on adventurous exploration and less on being a generic shooter. Puzzles are actually interesting without Lara constantly spoiling every single one of them the first 5 seconds you enter an area. Story isn't great but it was much worse in the previous games, especially the 2013 one. Outside of puzzles the gameplay (as in controling Lara) didn't change because it didn't need to. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Murals have text too, and monuments give riddles instead of just marking points on your map. Areas are a lor more interesring with the collectibles feeling more part of the world. This game is a huge step in the right direction.
Game website reviews are made by people who don't know anything about games and most of the times can't even play them properly, they are just digging for things they can relate to their own politic views.

The Tombs in Rise of The Tomb Raider were bigger and better than the Tombs in Shadow of the Tomb Raider though. I'll take quality over quanity in this situation. I really enjoyed the Tombs in Rise. None of the Tombs in Shadow are memorable.

They need to make Lara Croft a bit sexy like the original character of Lara is the first few tomb raider game! If i remember Lara was a bit sexy and we miss that. Here in this game she jus not really Lara Croft. Where that sexy British accent and sexyness!:steamhappy:

Dunno, for me this game definitely had more interesting tombs and felt way more quality than quantity, in fact the entire game feels like that. I can't remember a single part of RotTR that would be more exciting than the Trial of the Eagle for example. Though it was still an improvement considering that TR 2013 only had tutorials as puzzles.
Areas may have been bigger in RotTR but that doesn't necessarily mean it was better for it, walking over the village here feels a lot more interesting with more stuff and better places to find than running around the empty fortresses and fields in the remnant area.

Yes. But a better story and more personality is needed too,
