Unskippable Cutscenes on New Game+?
I mean... yes, it's nice to have New Game+ and all, with perks to encourage you... but, you know, I'd like the other half of this butt (since the three-letter version is censored). Why make the player unable to skip cutscenes that have to have been already watched?

Not only on new game +

More than likely, the cutscenes are masking a load, and skipping them would just dump you in a loading screen.

On a first playthrough they have the excuse of not wanting you to "miss the story" at least.

I'd personally rather have a loading screen. And while on some cases you might be right, that just feels off with how their duration, taking longer than loading a saved game to finally let you skip at times.

Same for those long (unnecessary) transitions down narrow passageways. Gotta load that stuff stealthily; can't show what's going on behind the scenes. Have to give the kiddies something to watch so they don't get distracted by... HEY! A SQUIRREL!!
yes i agree its not a good solution for the NG+ i wanna skip eversything and rather like a loading screen too compared to this scripted sequenze which is basicly a loading sequence.

pls patch

You can skip cutscenes.

Just not all of them.

You'd rather watch a circle with loading flashing under it than a story cutscene? Most cutscenes are skippable once the assets have loaded.

Yes, I would. Because then it would mean I was only being held back by my own hardware, which I'm confident would be less. Whether kill-chan meant it like that in the single-word post, he does seem to have a point. The forced delays because of loading, be it the cutscenes or the slow crawlings/squeezing unders, appear to be static, no matter what hardware you have, which make it look like they were imposed based on console limitations and just used all across the board.

and I'd be fine with that, but what about those that aren't?

Five-minute long unskippable cutscenes that play every ten minutes are a gaming tactic nowadays... Ten hour gameplay campaign? Yeah... no. Half of that purely cutscenes mate. :p

That too. Artificial padding. Hate it.

What about the 2 minute cutscenes where the save icon (the TR icon with the spinny circle around it) pops up on the screen 4 times during it? What is it saving? It's not cutscene progress, is it? smh

Upon entering the Hidden City, the gameplay dramatically goes down the toilet. The game becomes a convoluted mess of cutscenes, stretching for minutes where you can't do anything to shorten them. What about all those sections where you can't even run unless you've met a specified NPC? You're forced to walk around like having a relaxed sunday stroll. I hate that. And it's not like the story shown in these unskippable sections is entertaining. It's drawn out and dreadful. Time to deinstall this game once and for all.

I can't skip any of them and that's on first play through. I have The Croft Edition
