It looks like it happens on my headset with an USB adapter. Using a P2 connector on an external audio device the problem does not occur.

I found my solution by changing my language to something else and then changing it back in game settings

For windows 10: Right click on the sound icon on the task bar. Make sure that "Spacial Sound (Windows Sonic for Headphones)" is checked and enabled. This fixed the problem for me.

I play on speakers and found this also fixed my game voice (the character voices) sound issue.

This fixed it for me. Just change text language to French for example and then back to English. Thanks thatguy7747

THis happened to me when updating nvidia drivers to the latest version for the 30 cards...rolled back to earlier driver and it solved the voice audio issue.

This is what support sent me and it worked.

Please try deleting the Preferences file to ensure the game launches with clean preferences:

Launch the game to the pre-game Options window
On the Support tab, click the Open Preferences Folder button
Now, close the pre-game options window before continuing
In the newly opened window, please look for a file named Preferences and drag the file to the Trash
Relaunch the game

If you are not seeing the pre-game Options window, please navigate to the following location and delete the file there:

~/.local/share/feral-interactive/Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Note: This is solution is for linux. Not sure about windows.

This solution has worked for me, but in my case, after closing the pre-game options, the steam launcher shows "Stop" as if the game is still running. If i delete the file and stop the game by clicking "Stop", the preferences.xml is regenerated and the problem persists.

To solve this, i opened manually the file location after stopping the game completenly and deleted it. The voice sounds appeared at the next relaunch
