Terrible performance in cities
its like the game is crushing the cpu in crowded areas, the cpu usage and gpu usage is awfull in places like kuwaq yaku, we need a patch, can anyone confirm how his game is running in these areas? its not been great for me
pc specs:
gtx 1070
i5 6500
16 gb ram

I had this same issue more or less at the start of the game. Trying running the game ONLY in full-screen mode (do not use exclusive full-screen), and setting the prioritization of the .exe of the game to "High". Hopefully that should resolve the stutters you have. After I tried the above I'm getting a smooth 95-105 FPS on a 1080 Ti on max settings with TAA anti-aliasing. Best of luck!

yeah the open areas just as in Rise Of The Tomb Raider give some fps drops.

Well your cpu isn't exactly top tier.

I second this, your cpu is actually 89% worse then my ryzen 1800x, which is on par with a core i7 8700k

Here is the 89% difference proof:

It seems like game is more cpu bound than gpu, that might be the reason for terrible performance drops. People with 4 cores cpu have been complaining same thing about it. I got i5 8400, which is 6 core paired with gtx 1060. It ran smoothly for me with average of 60fps (1080p) even in cities with everything maxed out.

well it isnt low tier either, its just mid range, the game should be able to run much smoother than this in cities, so we need an i7 8700k to get 60 fps without stutters? i dont think so, i play a lot of games and they run like a charm, i know its not the best cpu but it isnt the worst, i mean skylake is pretty recent, the port is ♥♥♥♥ thats it, we need a performance patch right now

Exactly same CPU as mine, FPS in Town drops to 30-40, doesn't matter if High or Max presets, my gpu is a Strix RX480 8GB

Outside the hub areas the game runs fine at 55-60

yeah :(, hope it gets fixed

did not have any issue. Disabled the exclusive thingy that solve my fps drop.

Same here with an i7 4770 3.4ghz / gtx 1060 6gb ram.
Framerate on open areas like towns and jungle are 40-45fps no matter the preset, and my cpu is always at 100%. But outside this areas it runs smooth

What hardware do you have? I mean CPU, RAM etc.

My is i7 7700k 4.2Ghz, 16 GB RAM and 1080Ti and still I suffer drops in FPS (not painful most of the time but would like to know the differences to understand better what's going on ).

I also have issues.

Incredible how not a SINGLE person talks about DX12 vs. DX11 where it is THE MOST relevant piece of information and can be the sole reason behind fps drops in CPU bound crowded areas. You guys realize that DX12 is about TWICE the performance of DX11 in the areas you are experiencing fps drops, right? Elsewhere it may be identical, but DX12 is ridiculously faster than DX11 in CPU bound crowded areas especially if you have a weaker CPU/RAM.

@OP where is your OS information? Where is your API information? DX11 will absolutely get butchered in crowded areas in this game, be mindful.

I tried both DX11 and DX12, the difference is 2-3 fps from 11 to 12 in the main hub village

OP CPU is same as mine I5 6500, outside the village, the game runs fine maxed at 60fps 1080p (in the village ii drops to 35-40 for me, it's playable actually, but a little annoying )

Even happens on Xbox One X where it also has screen tearing because they use adaptive vsync instead full vsync, it's hilarious.
