Why no High setting for PureHair?
I turned it to low because on Medium it just looks bad...
There's no particle collection either, so when you get mud on your or you take a swim, the hair will still look dry as day.

Also, why doesn't the Survivor Lara have TressFX? Her hair also looks awful but for a different reason.

I'm wondering this too. I took a quick look around to see if there were an config files I could manipulate, no dice. I think I read somewhere that this is an AMD effect and not and Nvidia hair effect like the last game. At any rate it looks like grainy poo unless you blur it up and everything else with AA.

DoM, what AA setting you are using? Also what GPU?

You never go full Purehair.

I'm using the basic SMAA setting because everything else blurs the game too much. My GTX 1080 gives me great fps on my ultrawide with this AA level too. Doesn't fix the hair grainyness though.

Yeah, that blurry effect is killing new games imo. Developers says it's for more photorealistic view but it's BS. I just hope good reshade would come out asap so I can take that blurriness away.

I use reshade a lot. Primarily to inject custom SMAA settings. No news however on when reshade will become dx12 compatible.

Yeah. For example Mafia 3 almost made me vomit when I first played it. I wouldn't be able to complete it without reshade.

Oh good lord, Mafia 3. Even sharpening couldn't save that game for me. I never finished it, problably never will.

Let's hope so. Because it's pain in the ass so far getting all these blurry "photorealistic" nonsense. Mafia 3 and Resident Evil 7 are the best examples for this nightmare.

It's just a different naming convention. "Normal" in this game replaces "very high" from RotTR, and "low" replaces "on". From what I can see in close-ups like at campsites, "normal" looks just as detailed as "very high" from RotTR.

The only AA that affects it for me is TAA, and with that it jus looks blurry.
Also, PureHair has always been an AMD effect (it's forked from TressFX).
