GAME WON'T LAUNCH?! (SOLVED!!!!!!!)
tried everything now. Uninstalling drivers. Turning all settings on the "Tomb raider launcher" down to lowest. Launching in windowed, STOCK CLOCK On both graphics card and CPU, Launching the game in compatibility mode for windows 8, override high dpi scaling settings, I DO NOT HAVE ANTI VIRUS on ATM so that is not the issue.

GTX 1080TI watercooled, i7 6850k processor watercooled, 16GB RAM, 500GB SSD hard drive, Windows 10.

EDIT: Verified game aswell on steam!

EDIT: Got the latest NVIDIA drivers

EDIT: Tried launching the game from all types of directions.. the "TOMB RAIDER LAUNCHER" starts.. but then I click play and black-screen for 1 sec. And close..

EDIT 23:08 CEST: Updated Bios to latest version now aswell. Still didn't fix the issue. Can't launch the game -.-.

EDIT 23:22 CEST: Uninstalled MSI afterburner, heard it crashes some games.. Not the cause apparently..

EDIT 23:27 CEST: Turned off GSYNC and VSYNC.. Also checked settings on nvidia control panel.. Not the problem

EDIT 00:00 CEST: Going to bed..tired from not getting the problem solved.. Hoping for a fix soon :(

Does this say anything to anyone?

This suggests the problem is related to NVIDIA Ansel. You can try disabling Ansel, or re-installing GeForce experience.

Also, if you can provide a crashdump (.mdmp) I can pass it along to the development team to see if they can extract any further information.

Crashdumps would be found in your Documents\Shadow of the Tomb Raider folder on your PC. The *.mdmp files. If you can supply some we may be able to avoid other users from running into this.

I cant get the game to launch either.....i click play and nothing happnes....it says running in the library for a few seconds then nothing! tried verifying, tired the exe file nothing, graphic drivers are all up to date!

I can't say I'm great at diagnosing errors, but that doesn't sound like a problem with the game anymore. If a file was missing from the game or there was a problem on that end, trying to start the exe would i imagine identify it if nothing else. Sounds more like a problem from your computer side, maybe a program is interfering or your computer has some problem. I'd start going down that list, restarting computer, checking for updates, checking to see if it runs after start up without steam open, checking all your drivers(not just video), and so on.

It was bitdefender blocking the file launching...never had it block a game before so didnt expect that one seems ok now1

Hey I am still having the issue. It runs and opens with the Nvidia logos and Crystal Dinamics and then comes a crash saying no memory. I have 32GB RAM PC only using 5GB. How can I send you the CrashDump?

Wait one sec,

When booting up the game, i got a prompt by geforce experience whether i wanted ansel on or off, i selected off ofcourse, cause i never use ansel.

So i find it quite strange, that none of you got this pop up.

It was before the game even launched, in between clicking play in the launcher, and the first boot screen

Anyways, glad that it worked mate :) now enjoy the game

Disable your antivirus, a lot of people had it not launch do to BitDefender or getting memory errors because of it. If you don't have a third party antivirus I don't know what would cause it unless you need a Microsft C+ update or something.

I am having the same issue. I start the game and ...... nothing although Steam reports it is running, and it is in the process tree. Right now I am at the point of re-installing the game over my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ internet. 8-12 hours to download..... so once I have it installed again I wil try turning off Ansel and hope it works.

I got the exact same problem
well I happened to try unchecking "direct x 12" in the option before launching the game by clicking play and it seems to work!

I solved the issue with my problem. The game worked fine when I first downloaded it. Then I took the weekend off and when I went to launch it..the screen would turn black then send me back to my desktop. I couldnt figure it out..but then remembered i had plugged a 4 port usb 3.0 hub in over the weekend and plugged my mouse and what not into it.. I unplugged it and the game launched right away. So if you have any usb hubs or any kind of third party hardware other then mouse keyboard and controller..u plug them and try to launch
